Drama is physical. On workshop days you will be on the floor, on your feet, and occasionally being a tree, so dress for movement.
Wear
- Clothes you can move, stretch, and sit on the floor in.
- Flat shoes that stay on — no flip-flops, no heels. Bare feet or grip socks are fine on studio days when the floor is clean.
- Nothing you would be upset to crease.
Performance days are different
When a task like Tableau Story Sequence is performed, your group may agree on simple costume pieces. Simple means simple: a hat, a scarf, a jacket. The task pages say when this applies.
Bring
- Your journal (paper or device — see Drama Journal for what goes in it)
- Something to write with
- A water bottle — voice work is thirsty work
- Anything the current class page lists under “before our next class”
Leave behind
Phones live in bags during workshop, not in pockets — a pocket phone ends up on the floor within a week, and a checked phone breaks the room’s focus. If your group wants to film a rehearsal to review it, ask first; filming other people’s rough work without their okay breaks Our Ensemble Agreement.
